"Marriage Amendment" in Virginia
What is being touted as a proposed amendment (inaptly called the "Marriage Amendment") to the Virginia Constitution to ban same sex marriage is in reality opening the floodgates to litigation over wills, trusts and all contracts. Voters need to read the second paragraph of the expansive amendment to see that it is not directed at just gay couples, but at all unmarried parties who enter into business relationships. No one should want to have litigation fosterd and encouraged, and this is just what the proposed amendment does.
